Welcome to the Bible Study. I'm Stephen Lawson, president of One Passion Ministries.

And each week I will teach verse by verse through the passage of scripture so that you can better understand the word of God

and put it into practice in your life. Join me now as we look together into this

section of the Bible. So I want to start with the word of prayer. Father, who look down to your word, we

ask for your grace, for your help, for your insight, for your discernment, for your

understanding to be given to us, help us. for your

word discernment, for your understanding to be given to us, help us to understand your word most fully.

We pray this in Christ's name, amen.

Okay, Romans 1, and today we're going to be looking at verse 5, but I want to start reading

in verse 1, Paul, a bond servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the Gospel of God,

which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures concerning his

son who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh who was declared

the son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead

according to the spirit of holiness Jesus Christ our Lord. Now here's our focus

for today. verse 5, through whom we have received

grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for his names sake.

So this is another installment on what I've entitled,
