Welcome to Love to See It, a podcast about how all is fair in Love and Basketball. That's right everyone. It's our first romcom rewatch Spring Break edition and we are discussing the romantic classic Love and Basketball, starring Senna Liefen and Omar Epps.

We'll be focusing on teen romcoms and rom-droms during our extended bachelor hiatus this spring and we are so excited to have co-hosts of the batches sub podcast Millie Tamarez and Amanda Duberman on the pod to discuss this one with us.

Oh, hell yeah. This is big news. Before we get into Love and Basketball just a reminder to everyone listening that our love is blind.

Oh, I can't wait. The season is crazy. It's wild. It is wild. I am all over. You guys as recaps. I saw like telling Millie. Yeah, I'm like, because I stopped watching after season two. So sometimes I go in and I'm like,

season two was a dud. It's back baby. It's back. Yeah, it's been on the off ever since. But we're here today to talk about some some film. This is a film podcast now. It's time to get in our mental time machines and travel back to the year 2000.

A time when all the closed Gen Zers are wearing now were in style and it's back again and we're just very confused. It's it's love and basketball. You guys. I'm so excited to talk about this one. I hadn't watched it in years and rewatching it was such a treat. So we want to start by asking you to what's your relationship to romantic movies.

I love a good romcom. I feel like there was this point in every feminist, especially millennial feminist journey where you know, in order to seem serious and to seem legitimate. You had to kind of reject or be like, that's corny. That's lame. All this stuff. And now there's a hard lean back into that. And I'm enjoying that because you know, I think that

a lot of rom comes, you know, I mean, this is what you know, when you guys asked what romcom. I want, you know, the list that you gave. There's not many romcoms that really accept somebody having it all or like a woman having it all or pushing, you know, so in that feminist way, I feel like that's, you know, my relationship with romcoms. It usually involves like further woman to have a happy ending. She has to move back to the small shitty town and give up on her dreams and fall in love with the kids.

And I think that's what I think is the most important thing to do is to get some guy who's probably a Republican.

Now that rom comes now that I've like accepted me for who I am and I'm cringe, but I am free. I and also the combination of romcoms, not all of them, but a lot of them have gotten better.

And, you know, I love the to all the boys. I love summer. I turned pretty. That's like my favorite. I think that's so well done.
