Hello, this is Moderate Rebels, and I'm Ben Norton. This episode is the audio of a

live stream we did over at the Grey Zone on May 21st, featuring the renowned musician and

activist Roger Waters, most known for being the primary songwriter of Pink Floyd, and also a

brilliant musician in his own right, and a lifelong activist who has dedicated many years of his

life to supporting the Palestinian struggle against Israeli apartheid. We were also joined in this episode by

Gabor Matae, who is a very insightful, very unique and creative physician and author who has

written a lot about trauma, not just personal trauma, but social trauma and politics and culture.

And in this episode, we focused mostly on Israel Palestine. A ceasefire has been declared, and Israel has ended, at least temporarily,

its bombing, its brutal bombing of Gaza, the besieged Gaza Strip, which is the largest open-air prison in the world.

Israel killed more than 200 Palestinians, including more than 60 children, in just 10 days, 11 days of bombing.

And now it's returned to the status quo ante, which is Israeli besiegment and control

of this Gaza, open-air prison, controlling its land, air, and sea borders, controlling everything

that enters Gaza, all of the food, all of the supplies. So in this episode, we spoke with Roger Waters and Gabramate about Israel, about Gaza,

about Zionism in general, and a few other issues.

You'll see we talked about music a little bit and culture.
