Summary

Roger Black MBE is one of the finest 400-metre runners of his generation, winning Olympic silver in Atlanta in 1996 in a race still talked about today, and adding World Championship silver and European gold to an already glittering career - all the while, suffering an on going heart condition.

After open heart surgery, Roger regained his strength and fitness back through walking and eventually running - which is why he is partnering with the British Heart Foundation to coincide with Heart Month.

The charity is encouraging people to take on its ‘Walk for Hearts’ challenge, walking 28, 50 or 100 miles over four weeks.
