In the early 1980s, Vince de Kola came bursting onto the movie scene as both a songwriter and a film composer.

His love for progressive rock music, his skills as a keyboardist, and his love of synthesizers gave him the unique sound

that Hollywood was looking for.

two-part interview with composer Vince de Kola. I grew up listening to

de Kola's film scores and was so intrigued by not only the incredible sounds of synthesizers, but by the rhythmic progressive rock nature of his film scores.

My two favorites of his were the fresh take on Bill Conte's Rocky Music featured in Rocky Four,

and my other was the animated feature Transformers The movie.

But even more impressive is his story about how he got there.

In less than five years after moving to Hollywood, Vince de Cola was scoring one of the biggest movie franchises in the industry

and was hand selected by the film star Sylvester Stallone.
