I'm Tasha Robinson, here with Keith Phipps, Genevieve Koski. Our absent co-host, Scott

Tobias, is away at, I don't know. I think he's going to law school at a men's retreat, something like

that. I don't know. He sent us a slightly muddled telegram about an uncharted island and learning

what is the law and something about being a man, I'm sure

whatever is going on there is all going to work out fine. This week we're looking at two pretty

different movies about extremely mad technoscientists obsessed with perfection and creation,

specifically about teaching ordinary animals to walk upright, talk intelligibly, and act like people.

The only problem with that being that

people often have much more complicated needs than animals and much more ability to plan a way
