I don't have to put on a persona. I don't have to wake up and go like, okay, this is

how I'm supposed to act. No, if you just be who you are, people respond to that.

let's get into it. Today, our guest is Robin Roberts. You know her as the co-anchor of

Good Morning America, a job she's had for over 15 years. In the anchor chair, Robin has covered

some of the biggest events and stories of our time from Hurricane Katrina to the Oscars to

presidential elections. And Robin's been in the Disney family for more than 30 years first

joining the company as a sportscaster on ESPN. She's won a number of awards throughout

her career, including AP Body, a Walter Cronkite Award, the Arthur Ash Courage Award, just to

name a few. In addition to her day job, Robin's also written multiple books. Her latest is out now

called Brighter by the day. And perhaps most importantly, Robin was a state bowling champion

at age 12. Robin, welcome to 9-5-ish. Thank you for ending on the state bowling

championship of all the accolades. That is the one that warms my heart.

It's important to end on the most important one. I feel like it sets the stage well, you know,

like you were a high achiever at 12. You know, I just, I went for it because at the age of 12,

living in Mississippi at my age, that was the only sport they would let girls participate in at

that time. So I said, okay, if that's the only one you go let me do, I'm going to try to be my

absolute best. Well, we are very proud to have this state champion boulder on the show first time.
