I'm delighted to tell you that my guest this week is Robert Webb of Peep Show and

Mitchell and Mitchell and Web Fame, but more pertinently for today's purposes, the author of how not to be a boy, which is a curious

combination of sort of autobiography and examination of how hard it is to be male.

It's also quite a lot about death, but don't let that put you off. It's going to be a fascinating encounter.

Robert, hello. Thank you. This is odd, isn't it? Because you've written a book that essentially

sort of tear your ribcage of sunder and display all of your inner most secret. So you could

answer every question I

ask by saying we'll just read the book yeah because I'm a pervert I've written the whole

thing down so you know there's nothing in between the lines it's all in the lines

but it is it is all there isn't it all of you or most of you? Yeah, it's fairly, yeah, there's, I thought I had a good story to tell

a mixture of the unusual and very typical, so all the stuff

with all the teenage angst about, you know,

why won't these girls fancy me? Why do they lack the

basic imagination to want to get off with me? That's fairly, you know, normal.

There again, you know, what I do for a living is a bit unusual it's not normal to sit here in this

like this booth being interviewed by a person although it's what you always wanted

it's not specifically this episode of that but how do you know this is it
