As Ben mentioned, the thing that I'm passionate about is women loving the word of God,

as women having a passion for the word and having a faith that is informed by that

and being articulate followers of Christ.

And I wish that someone had challenged me to be that

when I was here in college.

It took me a while to get to that place,

but that is the thing that gets me up in the morning.

And so what I want us to look at tonight is a passage out of First Peter,

and I want us to think about how do we relate to God's word?

How do we relate to it? Specifically as women, okay? Because you probably already

know this about yourself. Women are very emotive. I mean we love to engage our emotions in our faith, right? But we are

called to love God in scripture with our heart, our soul, our mind and our strength.

And I find that when it comes to women,

we need a reminder sometimes

that we need to be engaging our mind

in the full-on love of our Heavenly Father.

So we're going to take a look at that tonight,

but we're going to start in 1st Peter,

chapter 1, verse 13 through 16.
