I'm Mick Garrus, and this is Postmortem.

First of all, let me thank all of you

who sent such kind wishes as I was hit by COVID last week.

It put me out of commission for about a week,

and I hate that I had to miss one of the episodes of the podcast

for the first time in our seven seasons.

But I'm back, and the tank is full,

and we've got another great conversation in store.

We've talked about this before, but it's time once again to note

how important the shared experience is to the horror genre.

Most people consume their film entertainment on their TVs,

their tablets, or worst of all,

on their phones where distractions are plentiful

and interrupted viewing is pretty much the norm.
