wait for it, electric vehicle charging. Last week, electric truckmaker Rivian said it would be adopting a new charging standard, one belonging to none other than its rival Tesla.

The move means that as early as next spring, Rivian owners will be able to access 12,000 Tesla superchargers

with adapters in the U.S. and Canada, according to Reuters.

Rivian has its own small network of fast chargers, but Tesla, well, it appears that company is well on its way to setting the industry standard for EV charging.

Tesla already has an established accessible network of charging stations, and automakers like Rivian know that competing directly with that system would be costly and inefficient.
