Welcome to Coach Bennett's podcast, where every run has a purpose, where kindness is

0:16.8

hardcore, where this is about running, and this is not about running, where every starting

0:22.6

line is a finish line in disguise, where rambling still gets you where you need to be, where

0:28.6

pineapple will never ruin your pizza, and the sodas, adult and not adult kind are always cold,

0:35.5

and where there is room on the starting line for everybody.

Welcome to episode 110 of Coach Bennett's podcast. That's right. 110. Now, I would say something

0:53.8

0:56.7

when it was 110 degrees Fahrenheit anywhere. I do remember when it was 116, though, here in

1:03.7

Portland, Oregon, which is bananas, because it shouldn't be 116 degrees in Portland, Oregon, ever.

1:11.7

And if I'm remembering correctly, because this was just a few summers ago,

the prior all-time high was 114.

1:20.0

And this was 116.

1:21.5

So you're not supposed to be breaking records like that by 2 degrees.

1:24.8

That's just crazy.

1:25.9

But anyway, I don't have anything other than

1:28.5

what I just told you about 110. So maybe I'll think of something down the road. I've never

1:34.3

run 110 miles in a week. So that's out. So we're just going to just head right into what this is

1:40.2

about. And this episode is entitled, Risk and Reward, entitled risk and reward not risk verse reward it's risk and reward we'll

1:49.5

talk about how they sometimes work together and sometimes they maybe work against each other and

1:54.4

whatever but the point is this is risk and reward and risk and reward is a part of your training.

2:01.9

It's a part of your running.
