Summary

"Where you are" shapes "who you are." Our context has the power to dramatically influence how our story unfolds. This week, as we kick off a new series through 1 Thessalonians, Pastor Ben Stuart introduces us to the context that the letter was written in and shows us how Paul's words to the church in Thessalonica can still encourage us today. Key Verses // 1 Thessalonians 1:1-3, Acts 17:1-9

Well, as we kick off 2023, I want to talk to you for a minute about context, where you live.

0:35.1

We may all come from different places, but for the moment, we share the same context.

1:38.2

you can have very different experiences here. You can live to your whole life and go to different

1:42.7

neighborhoods and feel really out of place here. So what happens is even though we're all sharing

1:47.8

the same context, we begin to focus on our own little context, little realms of existence,

1:52.5

little settings where our stories play out. And I just want you as we begin the year to take a

1:57.1

moment now and think about your context. The word context means width and it comes from the word
