So shouldn't elected politician be able to host a talk show on a TV network?

This is what Matt Gaetz is up to. Matt Gaetz has been filling in over on Newsmax for some of

their primetime hosts on an occasional basis. And in fact, he had talked at one point about

getting a full-time gig there and retiring from the house, although he didn't retire from the

house and he doesn't have a full-time gig. But, you know, still he's showing up.

Santa Clara University media researcher Subu Vincent says Newsmax is seeing itself as a battle

station in the culture war. It's a classic unethical means and ends situation.

Newsmax is simply rebuilding news, I think they mean rebranding, as the medium to carry the

chance and drumbeats of a tribe flexing its weapons and battle cries. Pat Fallon, who's a

congressman from Texas, also has been showing up on the Newsmax lineup. I don't think that there

should be a law passed. You know, it's like, you know, all in favor of people to be able to do media

if they want. We have politicians on this program regularly. Bring them on for an hour and basically

turn the show over to them. I act as the moderator and they take questions from the audience and
