Alright today we are looking again at Proverbs chapter number four and we are seeking wisdom

in these Proverbs. That's really what the book of Proverbs is all about is encouraging

us to seek wisdom and today we are continuing the passage where the writer has personified

himself as a father and us as his sons and daughters and he is giving us advice regarding

wisdom. Let's pick it up in verse number seven. He says the beginning of wisdom is this,

get wisdom and whatever you get, get insight, prize her highly and she will exalt you,

she will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a graceful

garland, she will bestow on you a beautiful crown. Hereby son and accept my words that the

years of your life may be many. I have taught you the way of wisdom. I have led you in the

paths of uprightness. When you walk your step will not be hampered and if you run you will

not stumble. Keep hold of instruction. Do not let go. Guard her for she is your life. Now friends

I wonder if you notice here that the benefits of wisdom are multiplying and what I hear the writer

saying is when you have the right priority of seeking wisdom first and getting what he calls
