block 110% of my available time 10 hours a day right that's a blanket defense against going to meetings I don't want to go to.

That doesn't work.

And I think you know, because I think you sure about trying it.

Yeah, I did.

I did. Yeah, look, the first time I learned as a young person, as a young manager, that the only way you can survive as an executive is to handle your time effectively to manage your

priorities and to make sure your priorities get attention by putting them on your calendar.

My calendar was immediately filled with my

priorities and suddenly I was unavailable. I was magically unavailable. It was great.

It's great. That you're well loved. Yeah exactly. The whole relationship piece. The results is one thing, but

relationships are the other part of that equation, right? Folks, to Mike's

point, I made the Ricky mistake of thinking, if in fact I need to manage my priorities and if I needed to put the right things on my calendar first, in order, by the way, at the time I was doing it, I didn't realize that I would therefore get the right of first refusal.

I was just saying, I needed to put my priorities on my calendar.

If you fill up your calendar with priorities,

by the way, that doesn't work.

A totally full calendar doesn't work,

not just because of the blanket defense issue,

but also because you give yourself no flexibility and changes happen and then you become

You end up spending all of your time managing your calendar and the changes that come down

But yeah look the mistake I made

was putting all my priorities on the calendar
