What's up, guys, this is Jark, and welcome back to Pop Politically Incorrect, the Politically

Incorrect Pop Culture podcast. I am flying solo today, which is great because there is so much

to talk about and recap. The Bachelor is back, the Real Housewives are on, below deckers,

maybe the best show on television, there's a new Temptation Island trailer. It's all

happening. First of all, what an intense week it's been. Oh my God. I was watching all of the stuff

with the United States Capitol unfold in real time on social media the other day, and I just

thought to myself, thank fucking God for reality television.

Look, I'm not telling people to completely ignore the important things going on in the world,

but sometimes it does just get too much and it's good to kind of have an escape from it all.

Like the whole situation with the Capitol the other day, it's not just watching it play out that's draining.

It's more so like the energy around it from like everybody else reacting to it and throwing their two cents in and then, you know, the media news coverage of it all.

Like that to me is where it gets really full on and intense and it's like a lot of energies

coming at you and sometimes you just do want a distraction.

It also gets so repetitive

because you realize that you're just looking at the same content on an endless loop. Like,

once you sort of like know what's going on and you know kind of like the meat of the story,

the next 24 hours after that is kind of just the same information being thrown at you in

different ways. Like when Trump

got banned from Twitter, my timeline for hours was just people screenshoting his band account,

like as if they were the first person in the world to notice that Trump had been banned from Twitter.

And then after they did that, it's like everyone started chiming in with like meme versions.
