What's up, guys, this is Jacques, and welcome back to Pop Politically Incorrect, the Politically

0:23.0

Incorrect Pop Culture podcast. I have a great show today with an amazing guest from my

0:28.4

fave show below deck, but first, I want to talk about something that has really pissed me off

0:33.0

this week. Since starting this podcast a few months ago, I have been amazed at how differently I've

0:39.1

been treated by PRs and managers and types like that as a podcaster compared to how I've

0:44.5

been treated in my main job, which is a reporter for a big mainstream media outlet.

0:49.5

There is an attitude from some PR peeps, not all, there are some really amazing PR people in the industry

0:54.8

as well, but there's an attitude from some of them that because you're a podcaster that you'll

1:22.2

podcast. I know people with huge shows that still get treated like crap from PRs. Like,

1:27.3

it's not just me. I am going

1:29.5

to be professional about this. I'm going to keep this vague, so I'm not publicly calling

1:33.2

anybody out of their name, because honestly, it's not deep enough for me to, like, name and shame

1:37.4

somebody, but I got the rudest fucking email from a PR recently, and it just encapsulated

1:43.4

everything that's so dodgy and wrong about

1:45.8

these people. It was demeaning, and I felt like it really just questioned my integrity,

1:51.3

like as a journalist and a content creator and a podcaster, and that really set me off.

1:57.4

There was a presumption that I'm just going to jump through hoops like a monkey in the
