You can just about make out the sea from where you are.

And even at this distance, the wind carries that unmistakable salty tinge to your lips.

A glance down at the city's streets makes you marvel at how different an animal the city of Autranto is compared to Cassiope.

Where one was little more than a hamlet of goat herders to be picked clean by royal decree,

the other is a military engine nestled within the firm embrace of formidable stone

walls.

If you had to count, it's more than likely that soldiers would outnumber the regular citizens

here.

You imagine that the double walls, which run around the city, even closing off its own harbor,

were inspired by the Theodosian walls of Constantinople.

The number of soldiers patrolling the walls certainly makes up for their scale with respect to the capital set.
