I'm Martina Abraham Zalunga.

We're in the kitchen cooking up a new season and figured in the meantime why not revisit some of our favorite

episode from the past. Today's rewind comes from Theo. He shared this story at one of

our kickbacks in Oakland. Back in the day, Thea was an aspiring child star

and his mom would do whatever it took for her baby's career.

This is you have me at Black and we live baby. So the year was 1996. I was living in a small town in Tennessee outside Nashville called Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Super white town was actually where Taylor Swift graduated from high school.

No, seriously, yeah, like, Google that.

That's real.

And so back in the day, I was like, I had a little singing, a little child singing career.

I was like nine at the time I was like in all the school

musicals and in the Nashville Children's Choir and in church choir the whole nine

I was big time.

And so the elementary school talent show came up

and it was on.

I was going to be the star of that show.

That was like my goal at the time. I was like, yeah, I'm going to get up there, do my solo,

probably get a contract signed after that, go big time. So my mom, she actually was like super supportive of it.
