that affect the way we live today. There is reward for the righteous. You just think about

all the times when the psalmist is looking around much like we do and seeing people

prospering for evil and wickedness. Seeing people who are not following after God,

experiencing what looks like prosperity to be reminded continually that it is righteousness

that leads to true reward, that it is trust in God. It is living in obedience to his

righteous commands that is reward, that is life. Oh, don't be fooled by this world.

Its pleasures and treasures will not last. They will, they seek first the kingdom of God and his

righteousness. And all these things will be added to you. Jesus tells us. There is reward

for the righteous live, for righteousness today. And the second part of Psalm 58 11,

surely there is a God who judges on earth in a world of injustice. Isn't it good to know

that perfect justice from the perfect judge, the God over all the earth, will reign in the end.

Which means we work for justice now. We want to reflect the character of our God. We do
