Hey everyone, before we get into this episode of the Deadlock podcast, we wanted to take a second and

pay some respects to a guy that I know that we all, all three of us grew up with at the very least,

a man that wrestled in pretty much every company that we watched growing up to and a guy that we

all had a lot of respect for Jimmy Rave passed away this past week at 39 years old, which came to

a shock to a lot of people I think this past year was really, really brutal for him and he ended

up passing away here. So we just wanted to take a second and talk about Jimmy Rave for a minute.

Yeah, man. I don't know. Do you remember the first time you saw Jimmy Rave? I have a vague idea

of one of the first, if not maybe the first Jimmy Rave match I saw.

It was CZW. I think this was 2002 or 2003. It was Jimmy Rave taking on AJ Styles and I think AJ

may have been NWA champion at the time. I think NWA Wildside was still a thing or still relevant

at the time. So I think Jimmy was a regular there and they were kind of sharing talent. And I

vividly remember Jimmy Rave coming out because I was a big NoDQ C-A-W mark and Jimmy Rave came

out to the same song that Spider-Man came out to a NoDQ. So I thought everything was at least back

to NoDQ. It does, it does, dude. I was like, wow, this dude's awesome and his fucking silver pants.

I was like, I love this guy. Yes, the sideburns. So that was the first Jimmy Rave match that I

think I saw or like the first thing I saw of him. And then obviously, you know, like ties right

into Ring of Honor where he was killing it. I remember thinking it was cool as fuck that he was

doing the Styles clash and he just called it the Rave clash. That's right. That's just such a

dickhead thing to do. But it was awesome. You can't talk about Jimmy Rave without talking about

the Embassy. For a time when Ring of Honor was so hot and everything was bang or after bang or

I remember going to shows or watching shows specifically because I wanted to see Jimmy Rave's

entrance, which is crazy because you want to think that that's kind of like an entertainment
