The Netflix documentary about the case—and the prevailing media narrative---would have you believe that Maya was ripped from her parents by a corrupt system, and that this could happen to any parent of a sick child. But did Maya really have a deadly disease for which she required the massive amounts of ketamine and other drugs she was being given? Was the hospital unfairly biased against Beata Kowalski because she was difficult, or was something more sinister at play? We talk to national law enforcement expert on medical child abuse, Detective Mike Weber, as well as a Florida pediatrician who helps us unravel some of the myriad strange details about Maya’s medical history. 1:01.8	I still think about this case all the time because it is just a perfect example of how
1:07.6	damaging unscrupulous media coverage in child abuse cases can really be. And also because
1:13.1	the outcome of this case could set a massive precedent for future parents' rights cases. And this is
1:19.5	only going to become a bigger issue in this country given the recent political shifts. So the Kowalski
1:25.1	saga is very much ongoing as this verdict has been appealed, and there is a lot of
1:29.5	drama going on behind the scenes with the legal team for the plaintiff, and we will continue to update you
1:34.7	on all of that on the main feed at some point. Our third season of the show is really unique because
1:39.8	I covered this case as it was unfolding in real time. And we have, at last count, more than
