My name is Neil Reynolds joined at the San Francisco 49ers team hotel by Nick hauling of Sky Sports,

Henry Hodgson of NFLUK.com.

Guys, the 49ers arrived this morning and they seemed in a positive mood, but that's got to be tough, Nick, after that loss to Carolina. Positive because they got out of America, I think. I mean, that was a real sickener for them,

wasn't it? I mean, I could see it coming because Carolina have played a couple of tough games

and you don't go, oh and forever and ever, and ever. They were going to upset somebody.

But, you know, you get your starting quarterback knocked out, you lose to a team that hasn't got to win you can't be getting on a plane feeling good about yourself i think there's a lot of brave faces

being put on right now well the break do them good henry a change of scenery and i mean they're going

to be grasping for positives at the moment absolutely i mean i think they've other teams that have come

here have talked about how positive it is to get away from their home base. But I think especially for this team who probably the focus on them is pretty bright.

The bright lights are on Singletary and he looked pretty happy this morning to be away from that.

And, you know, he can have an opportunity to maybe get a new start, have a think about things.

He did get attacked by a wasp at one point.

That's one brave wasp I can tell you're taking on Mike Singletary.

I don't think I'd fancy that.

But Nick, you mentioned Alex Smith and the quarterback situation.

He's obviously going off for an MRI today to look at his shoulder.

But David Carr didn't look that great when he came in.

Maybe I better be careful what I say because it's one thing slagging somebody off from the safety of a studio in West London. If he's the answer, I'd like to know what the question is because David Carr, whatever

potentially he had, clearly had it battered out of him behind those porous offensive lines in

Houston.

He didn't show anything when he got his opportunity.
