It's Christmas 2020 and this is the Red Lines Review of the Year.

And we enjoyed ourselves so much 12 months ago that we've decided to bring back three of the four guests who joined us then.

We've substituted Gareth Gordon for Enda McLaughertie, partly because Garth got a better offer and partly because when your political editor says he's available, you tend to give him a seat at the table.

back to Professor Dirdre Heenan, to Newton Emerson and to Tim McGarry, whose career has reached

a new level since his Red Lines debut last year. Is there something I haven't heard of?

I heard things took off after your appearance last year. Oh, absolutely, yeah. I a good line. I've got red lines groupies.

mince pies to keep us going for the next 40 minutes or thereabouts.
