It's all change in Dublin at the weekend.

Mihul Martin's time as Taoiseach is coming to an end,

and on Saturday he'll hand over the reins to his coalition partner,

Leo Varadkar, who last served in the top job for three years between 2017 and 2020.

And of course, the changeover prompts a lot of questions.

Will the coalition survive the approaching midterm game of musical chairs in the

corridors of power? Will Mr. Martin's leadership falter when he takes over as Taunishda? How will Dr.

Varadkar handle the many and varied challenges piling up in his intray? That's what we're

discussing on this week's red lines in the company of three journalists who know the Republic's

political landscape.

Intimately, Gavin, is this potentially a bit of a non-event or will you be breaking out the popcorn at the weekend?

I don't think I'll be breaking out too much popcorn because the closer we get to it, it's looking like it's going to be a fairly minimalist reshuffle when it gets to things.

But I suppose we shouldn't overlook the mere significance that you can have an orderly and

coordinated transition of power between two parties that have spent pretty much all

of the last century to find themselves as being each other's enemy.

So that in itself is significant, but I don't think I'd be on the edge of my seats for all

of this this weekend.

Alison, are you expecting big changes ahead?
