This is John Batchel, a conversation with colleague Akhmad Sharari of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy about the man who calls himself now Al-Shara, before he called

himself Al-Jolani, head of the HDS, a terrorist al-Qaeda-linked gang out of Idlib province,

now naming himself the president of Syria, shaking hands with the President of the United States,

were received at an audience in Riyadh by Muhammad bin Salman,

the crown prince, celebrated in Europe as a man to stabilize Syria,

which is a broken, failed state, still occupied by powers.

However, it is important to remember, as Ahmed taught me some months ago,

Al-Shara has adversaries in Iraq who mark him as a member of Al-Qaeda responsible for

horrors during the Al-Qaeda occupation, al-Qaeda ISIS occupation of Iraq.
