Summary

Kenneth Teets is a retired New Jersey police sergeant who turned a childhood stutter—and years of being picked on—into a 20+ year career in law enforcement. Growing up with a cop for a dad, Kenneth set out to follow in his father’s footsteps, spending decades on patrol before earning his stripes as a sergeant. In this candid interview, he breaks down the biggest misconceptions about police, the toughest challenges of policing today, and the most dangerous calls he ever responded to—plus the lessons the job teaches you that civilians never see. #PoliceStories #LawEnforcement #CopLife #FirstResponders #PoliceTraining #PoliceSergeant #NewJersey #OvercomingAdversity Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ Presented by Tyson 2.0 & Wooooo Energy: https://tyson20.com/ https://woooooenergy.com/ Use code LOCKEDIN for 20% OFF Wooooo Energy Buy Merch: http://www.ianbick.com/shop Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction and Overview 00:25 Growing Up in New Jersey 02:58 Family Background and Early Struggles 05:55 Childhood Challenges and Bullying 11:10 Living With a Stutter 19:36 Turning Point: Finding Inspiration 23:32 Seeking Help and the Speech Class 29:36 Overcoming Stuttering: Techniques and Practice 33:00 The Long Road to Becoming a Cop 38:40 Breaking Through Barriers 44:11 Starting the Law Enforcement Career 52:52 The Realities of Police Work 56:36 Balancing Work and Family Life 01:05:05 Reflections on Policing Today 01:09:12 Making Arrests: First and Last 01:11:57 Challenges and Lessons in Community Policing 01:17:59 The Importance of Communication 01:23:00 Biggest Misconceptions About Cops 01:25:26 Biggest Life Lessons From the Job 01:28:03 Final Thoughts and Farewell Learn more about your ad choices.
