0:19.4 | And so actually today is going to have two halves to our podcast. |
0:22.5 | The first half, I'm going to provide a framework with that rethinking involves. |
0:26.7 | And then the second part of the podcast, I'm going to lay out a very specific pathway to get there. |
0:34.6 | So when many people think of being a pastor or leader in a church or ministry today, |
0:39.3 | we think of things like we're going to cast vision to know what's to do next, why it's important |
0:44.9 | and how to bring the resources to bear to make it happen. Leadership, we think of things like |
0:48.9 | building teams and whether it's a leadership team of volunteers or staff, we think of growing the ministry |
0:56.3 | in both finances and impact and influence. |
1:01.1 | We think of keeping up momentum, a sense that we're going somewhere for God or, you know, |
1:06.0 | creating a good brand or face or sense of who we are and who we're not. |
1:12.0 | We think of leadership or being a good pastor leader as making key decisions |
1:15.6 | or discernment to go forward here, to move the organization forward, making key |
1:21.0 | hires, et cetera. |
1:22.6 | It's, we think of things whether you're at children's work or worship or small groups |

1:29.1 | justice, network, or whatever your area of expertise may be, we think of, okay, I'm going to |
1:33.9 | grow as a leader. I've got to get more skills, more experience, more resources to bear in what |
1:39.2 | I'm doing so I can have greater wisdom and insight. And so again, all these things I've mentioned are external, external to our lives. |
