As we begin today's guided prayer, why don't you settle in?

Take a few deep breaths, and allow yourself the time and space to connect with God.

Wherever you're at in the world today, whatever you might be facing,

know this.

God is with you.

And God is for you.

We've been discussing and rehearsing the story of Zacchaeus, this idea of coming down from the striving and effort

that we think produces fruit in our own lives.

One of the great ways to combat this idea

that I got to work and will my way to the things I want

is rest and worship.

That's exactly what we're going to do

with our time together today.

Let us begin with worship.

I want you to take 30 seconds now.

And as a way of combating all the striving and effort and trying,

I want you to thank God for the work he already did through his son Jesus.

Begin to thank Jesus for salvation.

Thank Him for his mercy.

Thank Him for the action of going to the cross willingly for me.
