We are tackling the topic of purgatory today asking the question does the Bible teach the doctrine of purgatory as found in the Catholic church and in Catholic teaching.

So I'm going to ask you to get a Bible ready, get your brain ready, be ready to reason, not

emote. We're not here to attack individuals. We're not attacking people at all. We're not trying

to jump up the ladder of anger or fear or rhetoric.

We just want to say, what does the Bible teach?

Let the Bible be the Bible.

And so, purgatory, that's's the question we're going to look at two specific

passages that Catholic apologists use to teach purgatory and these are the two

passages like if you hear any Catholic teaching purgatory they will definitely use these two passages and all other passages will just be random like they'll just be occasionally thrown in there but these are the ones that the whole debate is about

this. Now if you're the Catholic who says I don't care if purgatory is in the

Bible I believe it's simply based on church authority and on on the

Pope basically that that's that's all I need to the magisterium then you're maybe you're not

interested in this debate and that's fine but we are we want to know what the Bible actually

teaches about those issues because we believe that it is our authority. Now if you
