Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101.

Today you can see with me today is Eric Hernandez, the lead apologist for Texas

Baptist.

He works with me here in Texas and does a

great job for us. I always appreciate his scholarship and his willingness to jump on, especially when I

contact him the morning of and just say, hey, Eric, do you want to do a broadcast with me? And he was

gracious enough to say yes. Of course, he didn't really have a choice in the matter. Isn't that right,

Eric? I mean, you pretty much have to say yes, either because you don't have libertarian free will

or because your boss tells you to do something, you do it, right? Yeah, it's my greatest desire

to do what my boss says, so absolutely. As you can tell, we're going to be poking some fun at the differing views with regard to libertarian freedom versus compatibilistic freedom.

And we're going to do this in response to a recent broadcast by Derek Morel, who I know you've debated before, and we've talked about some of that and some of the presentation you did on that subject with regard to free will and human responsibility.

That's really been a major area of study for you in philosophy with regard to what does it mean to have libertarian free will?

What does it mean to be compatibilistically free versus libertarianly free and to understand those

different perspectives? And because we've gone over that and other programs, I'm not going to go back over the basics of that with you just yet.

Instead, what we're going to do is we're going to give our responses in rebuttal to these Calvinists, these three Calvinists,

some from the particular Baptist podcast hosting Derek Morel with Irresistible Truth. The link to the original video is there in the show notes that you can go watch on your own time if you'd like.
