First story, the BBC has lost two of its most senior executives after they resigned following a week of allegations of bias published in The Telegraph.

The BBC's Director General, Tim Davy, who's held the job since 2020, quit on Sunday night just hours after Culture Secretary Lisa Nandi said she had total faith in him.

In a statement, Davy said this. Like all public

organisations, the BBC is not perfect and we must always be open, transparent and accountable.

While not being the only reason, the current debate around BBC News has understandably contributed

to my decision.

Overall, the BBC is delivering well,

but there have been some mistakes made,

and as Director General, I have to take ultimate responsibility.

At the same time, the CEO of BBC News, Deborah Turnus, quit as well.
