So this is episode 383.

So I'm recording this just a few days after the American air strike against three nuclear development

facilities in Iran, and all the yelling is still going on, and there is a declared ceasefire,

which is not exactly being honored. So there's a lot of hubbub going on, and a lot of pieces are still falling out of the

air.

And I wanted to say just a few things about it.

I'll just touch this base first.

I don't think that a military action like this that quite possibly could

result in the toppling of the existing government of a sovereign nation, however awful that

existing government is, should be conducted without a declaration of war from Congress. So if you're sending out

military strikes against pirates or Houthi rebels or, you know, something like that,

that sort of thing doesn't require a declaration of war in my view. But at a certain level, okay, you need a

declaration of war. But aside from that, we didn't have that, aside from that objection,

it is heartening to see that mission creep is not setting in. A lot of there, there are warhawks here in America who would

like nothing more than for the president to declare the goal of regime change in Iran. Maybe we can

talk more about regime change later. But it's just very

good to see that there was a declared objective. That's one of the principles of war. What is the

objective? And the objective was to disable Iranian ability to create a nuclear bomb.
