Hi everyone, I'm Hillary Kerr and this is Second Life, a podcast spotlighting women who

have truly inspiring careers.

We're talking about their work journeys, what they've learned from the process of setting

aside their doubts or fears, and what happens when they embark on their second life.

Today, I am honored to have a true changemaker on the podcast with me.

Reshma Saojani, the CEO and founder of Girls Who Code, and the author of the new book, Brave,

Not Perfect.

I've followed Girls Who Code since it launched in 2012 as it's an amazing international

nonprofit that works to close the gender gap in technology.

In other words, Reshma is dedicated to changing the image and idea of what a programmer looks

like and does.

Through seven weeks, summer immersion programs, two weeks specialized campus programs, after

school clubs and more, they've reached almost 100,000 girls in all 50 states and several

territories.

There are programs in Canada and the UK too, and it's truly such an amazing organization.

Of course, since this is Second Life, you can probably guess that this wasn't Reshma's

intended path.

And you'd be correct.

Reshma worked on Wall Street and in politics, and even was the first Indian American woman

to run for Congress before making a major shift in her life in starting Girls Who Code.

Her story is brilliant, and I can't wait for her to share it with you all.
