So as this episode is being re-released, there's been a lot of controversy surrounding

a professional football player in their commencement speech that happened recently.

And Kansas City Chiefs Kicker, Harrison Butker, stirred controversy off the field this last

weekend when he told a college graduating class that one of the most important titles a woman

can hold is Homemaker and urged men to fight against the cultural emasculation, aka weakening of men,

as defined really by this person's religion's culture patriarchal system.

And at one point, he addressed women specifically saying, I want to speak directly to you briefly

because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.

How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all of the promotions and titles you're

going to get in your career is what he said. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers

in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your

marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife,

Isabel, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her

vocation as my wife and as a mother. So this is what is being said here that the man must be

strong and dominant. That is their rule. So they must disavow, which is

deny or hate or subjugate all the things feminine in order to maintain masculinity. So a woman

needs to be supportive and take that supportive rule. And rather than being rewarded with a diploma on graduation day,

you should take the role of homemaker as their duty as a husband's servant,

just like his wife did.

That's what's being normalized here in the culture.

And as we know, this normalized behavior is problematic.
