Now of course at the time I thought that no goal was complete without announcing it to the world so for the next five years I made sure to tell every single one of my friends and everyone who ever asked me the dreaded question of what do you want to do when you grow up.

This goal became my identity. So of course when I hit 21 and I hadn't accomplished it, there was a huge sense of disappointment.

Not to mention, my friends and family went out of their way to remind me of the fact that I hadn't accomplished it.

Now I'm telling you this story because it's a perfect example of why so many people choose not
