yes? So what do you think of when I say the word labels? Have you ever felt labeled before? I'm guessing you have. I definitely have and

not always fairly. And I have to admit, I don't like labels very much and I don't find them

particularly helpful in most cases. We're going to talk about labels on the show today. So,

stick around. I'm about to date myself, but please tell me you remember those label makers back when, and you had

one like I did, and at least for a few days went around making labels for everything and sticking

them onto things. Yes? No, just me? Okay, well, look, teens and 20-somethings listening. I remember

when I was about eight eight getting one of these for

Christmas. And it was literally my very favorite thing that Christmas. And I went around to random

things like the can opener. And I made a label can opener or whatever it was. And I stuck it on there.

True story. I labeled everything that year. I love my label maker, but I do not love labels. I don't like it when people lump me

into a category typically or when I hear people lump others into a category of some kind. Labels generally,

I don't find helpful. I remember a counselor once told me that the words always and never are not

good for our vocabulary, particularly when you're referring to someone.
