Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers, and our heart. I'm lisa whittle and i welcome you to

just five minutes with me which i trust and pray will be five minutes well spent i'm thrilled to

welcome my amazing friend and fellow podcaster heather mcfadion of the wildly popular

god-centered mom podcast to our show today i did did Heather's show back last summer, and I pretty

much demanded she become friends with me after that. She's a wife and mom of, are you ready for this?

Four boys. So you know she knows about some mom stuff. And she writes and podcasts, as I said. And one of the

unique bonds Heather and I share is that our precious

dads both went to heaven recently, so we both know about that ache. I can't wait to hear

what she has to share with us today, so listen with me as she talks to us about the all-too-common

mommy guilt thing.

Whenever I talk to moms about mom guilt, I like to make the distinction between conviction and condemnation because oftentimes we as moms will beat ourselves up and condemn ourselves.

And that is not from the Lord.

It says in Romans and Paul's letter that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

But we do have a convictor.

And God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit.

And there are oftentimes in my motherhood where I have responded in a way that is not grace-filled and

there is a conviction in my heart. Let's take last week, for example, when I had an evening

full of football and soccer and a dinner out and things had to happen in a very planned out order.

And we're almost to the football game.
