Welcome back to the Strong Women podcast. Aaron and I are going to talk about our conversation

that we had with Gene Daily. Gene is a friend of mine, but I didn't know half of the story

that she shared with us, so it was really fun to get to know her more. Several things from our

conversation stuck out that Aaron and I would like to highlight today.

One of them is her posture towards foster parenting.

If you guys haven't heard the episode yet, you might want to go back and listen to it so you know what we're talking about.

But I thought it was such a neat journey

and just filled with grace and love that God tenderly taught her and shaped her through something

that she didn't even feel equipped to do. Yeah, I think I love when you get to hear from humble people and Jean's humility came through,

especially you're talking about the foster care story and their journey into that.

But when she said that she had ideas about these parents whose kids ended up in the foster care system

and she didn't, you know, think real highly of them and basically admitted not thinking well

of these people that she didn't really know. And that really struck me because I've done that myself too.

And to admit that, not just in a conversation with a friend by yourself, but she's admitting

it on a public podcast to say, oh yeah, I judge these people that I didn't really know.

It takes a humble person to do that.

And it reminded me, actually, of times when I've done that myself.

I thought of a couple times in particular.

One was when I was 17 and got pregnant.
