Today I am joined by Al Jameson and David Normoyle.

Al is a member at the California Golf Club and was club present in 2006 when the club decided to overhaul their golf course with Kyle Phillips.

They underwent a restoration plan on the holes that, the original holes that remained of their

A. V. McCann and Alistair Mackenzie design golf course, and then they renovated a few of the other holes that were non-original.

The project has been revered among the golf community as one of the most influential and ambitious projects seen by a club.

So the end product has been a smashing success and one of the things I find most interesting has

been the drastic culture change that occurred at the club within the membership.

So Al comes on to talk about the process, the highs and lows of the restoration and the end results.

And after our conversation with Al,

revered golf historian David Normoyle joins

to give us some background on the California Golf Club's unique history.

He works with the club as a consulting historian.
