I have a friend who recently discovered a small lump on her face just under her ear on a lymph gland,

and she went in and had some test done, and the doctor felt around, and he finally said,

we need to do a PET scan, a P-E-T scan.

I don't know what all that stands for or what all that means,

but the object of that scan is to see if there are any cancer cells inside that little lump.
