Welcome to How Did We Get We? Okay, so I'm so excited about our guest today. She is legendary. We've been talking about having her on the podcast for a very long time now. And I wanted to tell a story about how we met,

because I think it's pretty interesting. When I was on SNL, I'm going to call it the mid-2010s.

I would get home and be tired from working so much, and I would watch reruns of the show Blossom.

And one night I was watching, and I saw that it was the series finale of the actual show. And I remembered in my head that the series finale of Blossom was like pretty meta. Blossom like woke up from a dream and she was like, oh, it was a TV show the whole time and stuff like that. Okay. So I'm really excited to watch it and it's nothing like I remember. And I start to freak out.

Now, keep in mind, since I started watching it, I had started following a lot of the cast members on social media.

And I'm going to call it our guest today and maybe one other cast member followed me back.

But luckily, most importantly, our guest today followed me back.

Just spoiler alert. Our guest today is Jenna Van Nuoy, who played six on Blossom. Again, so excited.

So I messaged her. I messaged Jenna, who played six. And I said, look, really big fan,

you know, really excited to talk to you, got to ask you. I was watching

the finale of Blossom and it's really different than I remember. What I just explained is how I

remembered it and I told her that and thinking that like the chances of her responding were probably

not great. So then I like send her this message and I hear back almost immediately. She gave me a response. She wrote back to me and she wrote, you might be thinking of this episode that's a few episodes earlier than the finale. That's actually called episode where Blossom has a dream and like I play Blossom and it's like this whole kind of meta thing. And I was like, okay, let me look that up. So of course,

I go, I look up the episode online or something and I watch it. And I'm like, you're absolutely

right, Jenna. That is what I was thinking of. So I thought, what a nice person. This is incredible.

She wrote me back right away. Then I get a message from her again, like two weeks later or something where she was like, oh my God, I just realized that you're Vanessa Bayer from SNL.

Like, I'm a fan too. Like, it's so nice to meet you. And I come to the realization that she wrote me

back immediately with my Blossom question, not knowing that I was someone who was on TV as well.

Now, I'm not saying that you would only respond ever to someone

...
