Dr. Berg talks about post-hysterectomy depression. The endocrine system has a series of glands and hormones, and it is a sophisticated communication system that sends, receives, and transmits communication. When you have a hysterectomy, it is like a sudden shock to the body, and most of the time, the ovary is taken out which causes the communication pathways to be confused. The adrenal glands are the backup organ that makes similar hormones that the ovaries make, BUT the adrenals were not designed to make the same amount of hormones which causes an overcompensating adrenal gland where there is a spike in cortisol and a severe loss of hormones, specifically progesterone and estrogen, that also causes the depression and anxiety.
What to Do?
• Make sure to take enough vitamin D3. (or get it from sun exposure for at least 45 minutes every day)
• Progesterone Cream
• CBD oil (THC-Free Oil)
• B-Vitamin (B1) – Nutritional Yeast
