I want to address what I believe to be the greatest deception in the church today.

This deception keeps Christians living in fear.

This deception keeps Christians living in cycles of shame and sin that they can't seem to

escape.

This deception leaves Christians confused about their identity in Christ, and it leaves them confused about

what God thinks of them. Now, Paul the Apostle wrote about this deception, and when he did, he warned

of the preaching of another gospel. Go to Galatians chapter one, and I'm going to begin reading at verse number six.

Paul writes, I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself

the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the good news, but it is not good news at all.

You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Now look up at me for a second.

In verse 8, we're going to see the severity with which Paul the apostle is giving this warning.

And I want you to not only notice the severity, but the emphasis of the severity in the following

verse. So let's begin here at verse 8. Paul writes, let God's curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven who preaches

a different kind of gospel than the one we preach to you. I say again what we have said before,

and here's the emphasis. If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed,

let that person be curse. Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God.

If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant.

Now, with such a severe warning, I think it's important that we know what Paul

the Apostle is writing about, because there are many deceptions in the world today. There are many
