Who wants to talk to just a bunch of funders?

They want to meet nonprofits.

You've got to humanize the situation.

You can't stack the deck.

You need things to be kind of, you need the right ingredients to have a cool event,

a cool engagement, a good use of time.

And I'm not talking about putting people on display as zoo animals or zoo exhibits.

No, it isn't that what we often see at gala events where we bring up a nonprofit sad story

and we make everybody feel emotional and then we get people to fundraise.

That stuff is dehumanizing.

So who needs to be in the room?

Whoever you're serving.

Stop having your boardroom and gala's outside of the communities that you say you serve.

You've got to actually be real about this.
