God can't bless you for tend to be or who you compare yourself to. He can only bless you and the lane that was created for you.

I feel that for somebody.

Even though I'm a little bit of a Bible thumper these days, most of you know that I didn't start that way.

Reading the Bible used to be a major snooze fest for me until I really started understanding exactly what makes the stories in the Bible so interesting.

If you start in Genesis, you follow this story of humanity and God learning to be in relationship with one another.

Generally, we start off strong and then it all goes down in flames.

If you don't believe me, maybe you go back to Adam and even the garden, maybe you start with Noah.

There are so many times throughout scripture where we start off strong but we end in devastation because what happens in the middle is what messes us up.

We get in the middle and we start to feel discouraged.

We start to feel like maybe I can't trust God, maybe God isn't faithful.

That middle spot is where all of the complications start.

Wedding start off amazing, beautiful. You're so in love.

You have this beautiful ceremony. You get into the middle of that marriage.

You're having to communicate. Everybody's inner child and triggers are showing up.

The middle is what determines whether or not you're going to have a long-standing relationship.

Parenting is the same thing.

My mom used to tell me when my kids were young that the newborn stage was the easy part.

Now I'm in the middle and I understand what this was talking about.
