But we're talking about their new book, which is an epistolary,

epistolary, I learned that word while reading this book.

And it's called Rehearsals for Living.

I believe it actually just published this week as we're recording,

but I had the pleasure of reading this in the manuscript form before it became a book and it was a very kind of moving thing for me but I just wanted to turn it over to you to maybe introduce yourselves to our listeners, who you are, and where you're calling from.

So I guess we can start with Robin.

Sure, thanks so much for having us on the show.

I'm a big fan of the Red Nation

podcast so really happy to be here. I am a black feminist scholar, scholar

activist based in Toronto. I'm actually as of tomorrow an assistant professor

of Black Feminisms in Canada

at the University of Toronto Scarborough

in the Department of Historical and Cultural Studies,

but I'm someone who comes into writing and thinking from a longstanding

engagement in movement work in movements against policing, in engagements with black liberation

struggle, in migrant justice struggle struggle and I've been producing

you know all kinds of writing interviews and interventions I think over the

last few decades related related to this kind of work.
