Now we bring on Jacob Gibbs for even more regression talk, talking about touchdowns specifically.

And welcome to Thursday's edition of Fantasy Football Today in 5.

Jacob is here. Jacob is a sports line data analyst, and he's going to be talking about,

you might have heard him talking about targets per route run. That was great stuff. Now he's

going to be talking about touchdown dependency rate for three players on this show. So what is

that? What is touchdown dependency rate, Jacob? So it's something I just kind of made up,

but it simply represents the percentage of a player's fantasy points that come from

touchdowns. And touchdowns are, you know, by far the most unpredictable stat when it comes to

fantasy football. And they're obviously worth the most fantasy points as well. And so when you're

talking about regression, they are generally the stat that's going to come to play the most. And so you look at

a player's touchdown dependency rating and obviously

some context comes into play, but you can compare it to the league average or to his rating

in past seasons and get an idea of was he generally, you know, lucky or unlucky? And should we

expect that rate to regress positively or negatively in the following year? Okay, great. So let's

talk about Terry McLaren. Terry McLaurin was right around wide receiver 20 last year with only four touchdowns.

You know, he had 87 catches over 1100 yards in 15 games, only four touchdowns here.

So there's obviously some positive regression coming for him, right?

So what would you tell me about McLaurin's touchdowns?

Yeah, only 10% of his fantasy points came from touchdowns. McLaren, he's somebody that I hit on

in the targets per route run article as well in detail. He improved his target per out run from

year one to year two, finishing with a respectable top 25 rate, but he actually boasted a top 10 rate prior
