Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last Searchlight program, we began looking at the wonderful truth of redemption. Most of us have

some idea of just what this means, but we may not appreciate the fullness of redemption. Because

God knows that concepts like redemption may be hard to grasp, he gives us pictures to illustrate

them. And the classic picture of redemption is found in the Book of Ruth.

As we began looking at this picture last time, we saw a family who left their place in the

promised land and went to Moab.

They were not supposed to do this, but there was a famine in the land and they thought

they could be fed there.

While in Moab, the husband and two sons died. As we pick up the story, Naomi hears reports

from her hometown of Bethlehem. Let's now join Pastor John as we continue to look at this picture

of redemption.

And she heard, oh, here I am in misery, my sons are dead, my husband is gone.

And I've heard now blessing is being poured out upon those that I left there at Bethlehem.
